Rev Dan Carmichael, Moderator, Presbytery of Glasgow, reflects on the words of John 19:26-7 Jesus said, ‘Dear woman, here is your son, and to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother’ (John 19:26-7). These words of Jesus from the cross carry an added poignancy this Good Friday since we cannot worship together. Jesus’ concern that Mary and John be supported within a family of faith encourages us to cherish our fellowship in Christ and challenges us to care for each other. Here might I stay and sing: no story so divine; never was love, dear King, never was grief like thine!...
